Cosmetic Treatments for Teeth: Small Steps in Fort Worth Area Make a Big Difference in Your Appearance, Confidence

Attractive smiles have power; they can be disarming, convey confidence, take years off of the appearance of your face, and inspire trust. Yet, many people do not take full advantage of this “superpower.” They fail to smile candidly, confidently, spontaneously, and authentically, over the fear of revealing irregularly sized, poorly shaped, discolored, chipped, or other “imperfect” teeth. Gapped teeth, as well as spaces where teeth used to be, can be sources of embarrassment. While some of the treatments to correct these common conditions are restorative, cosmetic treatments at the Sycamore Dental office of Dr. Vidya Suri in Fort Worth, TX can often conservatively, dramatically, and efficiently transform the appearance of your smile and face, and make over your self-confidence and quality of life.

Whitening for Life

We have made it easy to keep your teeth brilliantly white and youthful-looking. Patients with stains or discoloration that responds well to professional whitening gels, may be great candidates for take-home whitening. A whitening tray is made to fit your mouth. We’ll show you how to insert whitening gel into the tray. The tray then slips over the teeth, which transfers the whitener to the teeth evenly and comfortably. The “for life” part comes into play when we give you a fresh supply of whitening gel at every six-month check-up!

Direct veneers are made from composite resin, which is color-matched to blend in with your teeth. Also known as bonding, this procedure involves placing the resin as a pliable material on the teeth to be treated. The resin is then shaped to cover up minor chips, slight cracks, and gaps between teeth. The material may also be used to add height to a worn tooth, or to reshape irregularly-contoured teeth. The composite is bonded or secured to the natural tooth structure.

Indirect veneers are made from dental porcelain. These thin layers of porcelain are modeled after impressions of your “prepared” teeth. A small amount of natural enamel is removed. So, the porcelain fits perfectly on top of the natural tooth without sticking out too much or looking “fake.” The veneer is made in a lab to look and feel like the surrounding teeth. Once your permanent veneers are ready, they are applied to the teeth and bonded into place. Both porcelain veneers and composite bonding are designed to treat many of the same cosmetic concerns; however, porcelain resists stains and is revered for its durability and translucence.

Dental crowns may be used to cover up very misshapen or stained teeth that do not respond well to professional whitening. Yet, crowns and other restorative treatments are primarily used to resolve oral conditions and healthy function. The fact that Dr. Suri places such natural-looking fillings, inlays, and partial and full-coverage crowns is a bonus! Additionally, she offers both conventional and implant-retained bridges and dentures to rebuild smiles damaged by tooth decay, gum disease, and other trauma.
